Architectural Visualisation and Space Planning
Casestudy: Greenway House
Greenway House
Greenway House is a charming home nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, surrounded by picturesque hills within an idyllic village setting. Our clients, a young family, have resided in this home for several years and are now seeking to enhance the layout and functionality of the space. Their goal is to improve the flow of the home, better accommodate entertaining guests, and create versatile areas for their children to host friends for playdates or overnight stays.
We were tasked with focusing on the ground floor, with particular attention given to two key areas:
1. Optimizing the kitchen to create space for a large dining table, ideal for hosting gatherings.2. Enhancing the long living area to maximize seating and create a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
Additionally, our clients expressed a desire to incorporate a dedicated workspace for working from home within the design.

Greenway House boasts a generously proportioned hallway entrance. However, due to the current layout, this space—while spacious—can feel somewhat dark. Our aim was to reconfigure the layout in line with the client’s brief, while also enhancing the flow of natural light into the hallway. We achieved this in two key ways:
1. We opened up the long wall in the kitchen to accommodate a large sliding door, and incorporated a glazed door between the hallway and kitchen. This design allows natural light to flood into the hallway, while the new decking area adjacent to the sliding door creates a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, effectively expanding the sense of living area. The client may opt to replace the sliding door with a bi-fold door, depending on a comparative cost assessment.
2. We introduced a lobby space accessible from the hallway, serving as a transitional area leading to both the garden and the living and kitchen areas. The glazed doors in this space further enhance the natural light flowing into the hallway.
